Weekend discovery of the Loire castles: Villandry, Amboise and Le Clos Lucé

This itinerary promises a rich blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, making for an enriching travel experience in the heart of France.

Day 1

Departure at 8:00 a.m. towards Villandry. Arrival around 11:30 a.m.

Free time to explore the Château de Villandry built on the banks of the Loire, you can also discover the famous gardens.

Return of the bus at 3:00 p.m. towards Tours. Installation at the hotel and free afternoon to discover the city and its protected area. Night in Tours.

 

Day 2

Breakfast then departure at 9:15 a.m. towards Amboise. Arrival around 10:00 a.m. Departure for a visit to the Château d'Amboise which belongs to the Saint-Louis foundation, burial place of the iconic Leonardo da Vinci. The castle offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Loire Valley. This visit will allow you to immerse yourself in the history of the kings of France, you will be able to discover an exceptional collection of furniture, the different rooms of the castle, the Minimes tower, the Heurtault Tower, the garden of Naples and many other landscaped spaces . Free lunch and departure at 2:30 p.m. to visit the Château du Clos Lucé, the home of Leonardo da Vinci. You will travel through 800 years of history. The Château du Clos Lucé has an architecture that stands out in the region, a beautiful pink brick building. During your visit you will learn more about the life of Leonardo da Vinci and his many inventions. Pick up the bus at 4:30 p.m. for an arrival in Paris around 9:00 p.m.

Day 1 :
Departure: from Paris at 8:00 p.m., Place Nation –Villandry and Tours
Château de Villandry: Gardens: The Château de Villandry is renowned for its spectacular gardens, including the ornamental garden, water garden, and vegetable garden. Tours: Afternoon Free Time: After arriving in Tours and settling into the hotel, the rest of the afternoon is free for you to explore the city. Key sites to explore might include the Saint-Gatien Cathedral, Place Plumereau, and local markets.
Day 2 :
Amboise and Château du Clos Lucé
Château d'Amboise: Historical Significance: This château is closely tied to the history of the French monarchy and offers rich historical insights. It is also the burial place of Leonardo da Vinci. Panoramic Views: The castle provides stunning views over the Loire Valley, offering one of the most beautiful panoramas of the region.
